A/N: For the last two weeks' awdt prompts: It wasn't supposed to end like that/this and the pretty bench picture. Because Godric take it, the incompetence of computer repairmen is not going to screw me over in this, too. *glares mulishly*



He had hoped.

Standing on the path through the woods, surrounded by the bright and brilliant gold of autumn, staring at the empty bench, Draco thought: he had hoped.

He had spent months nurturing it, months more trying to let it die and then thinking it had--and then, at the first sign of friendship, it had sprung up again just as strong as before.

Please. For the love of Merlin. If you don't want to be kissed, don't come.

And the bench was empty.
